Standard progressions systems
Louis Deveseleer
Reps, time and sets automatically progress from session to session, within the limits set in the exercise parameters.
We should follow standard progressions systems, and even choose the best one depending on the situation, and/or leave that choice up to the user.
Standard linear progressions, Periodization, deload, and adapt the progression logic based on user logs.

That sounds very nice. Till last week i accepted the automatic progression in reps and time. But then i heard about "wave loading" and wanted to try it out. But that meant i had to change all values of all sets of all excercises manually every session.... That was the time where i thought about how nice it would be if there would be three fields in the session window ( right before i start the session ), for reps, time and weight , where i could put in a value and that value would then be added to the values of the sets of the last session.

Progressive overload disabling

I’d like to suggest an option to disable the automatic reps progression applied after each session.
The progressive overload suggestions are helpful when using straight sets, but with other methods (e.g. pyramids, clusters, ladders, or EMOM), the automatic increase can create friction. For example, in an EMOM protocol the total volume is usually fixed, so automatically adding reps each session forces unnecessary manual adjustments rather than improving the training experience.

"No automatic progression / constant values" will be one of the options in the comprehensive progression system that we're planning to implement this year.

Choice of method to increment series and repetitions
Caelipus Magnus
Hello, dear.
Before submitting my request, I checked to see if any of the previous ones matched and I think there are somes related, but slightly different.
My idea is that the user ccould choose which progression method they want to establish in the routine in general, or even in a specific exercise. I think that it would be a great addition to the app, giving a great freedom of choice for the users depending not only in what stage they are (that is already currently covered), but only which method each one prefers.
According to my short research, the main progression methods are the following:
- Classical linear progression
- Progression by ranks (double progression)
- Step loading
- Percentage of maximum method
- Grease the groove
- Progression by density
- Ladder method
It could be included as a pro feature, to incentive the support for the development.

Looking back at this post I have to say that automatic deload and / or periodization would be nice.

We plan on adding better progression systems this year, there are already some requests related to that:

Are you saying that there is an option to choose “pull-up fighter program” as a way how the app progresses the exercises from session to session? If that’s the case please teach me how to set that.
Louis Deveseleer
acids_burn It would be nice, but it's not a feature that is available yet. This post is only the idea of building that feature

Louis Deveseleer oh… I see… well… it would be an awesome feature if and when it makes it to the app
