Add steady-state cardio activities

I strongly support this idea (+1).
As someone who practices multiple sports actively (tennis, skiing, mountain biking) alongside calisthenics, I find that fitness apps consistently lack the ability to incorporate this varied activity data.
The current algorithms base their estimations as if we only participated in the specific sport the app specializes in, when in reality, many of us participate in multiple disciplines that all contribute to our overall fitness levels and recovery needs.
Having a more comprehensive tracking system would provide significantly more accurate assessments and recommendations.

I ve now created different runningactivities Like
easy 5km Run with <135 Heartrate...
Intervall running 1km With <145 Heartrate then 6*400 Meter Increase runs then 2km easy Run...
Also a 10 km Run
All runs as custom calistree Activities.
But i don't know how to assign the muscle-Segments to it ... Thats Something we can do With steady state exercices then, If I understood correctly :-))
Btw: I have scheduled the runs so that they are allways on rest days when i'm not doing calisthenics :-)
Louis Deveseleer
Luca Schmidt Did you create different custom exercises, or only one for Running?
When it is added to the app, you'll be able to log the distance and time. It will also take the activity into account for the strength and cardio experience.
(Running between the strength training days is a very good idea!)

Louis Deveseleer yes I created different custom Activities for each distance and the IntervallRun.
Exactly, when its being added, I'll only use one run activity :-)
As most of the runners are tracking their heartrate - that might be also a good additionally metric to Log (average heartrate).

One of the advantages would be also, that the app would knowwhen e.g. your legs needs a Pause after a running activity, so that it would not suggest Leg muscle Trainings directly Afterwards.
Louis Deveseleer
Luca Schmidt For sure! To get the full benefit from the Experience profiles as a way to measure muscle fatigue and gains across the board, it will be good to track all kinds of physical activity in Calistree. The steady-state exercises will be a big step in that direction.

hiking/trekking would be the cherry on the cake for me :D

That would be awesome. Today for example i was running five kilometers and the app told me to do the warm up which i didn't needed anymore. as a big fan of gamification i would like to earn points for my running activities. I'm using Garmin Connect but i think i can connect this one to health Connect as well and from there i can import in future maybe. But for now having the possibility to track cardio running activities in calistree would be already great :-) thx

If I could uptick this more than once, it would be my go to request😃
My weeks fitness goals are so integrated between circuits and cardio (or steady-state cardio as it is correctly called here) - it would bring all my training nicely together. Chuck in skiing as well and I'm a happy man
Louis Deveseleer
Keith Holt Don't worry, it will get done ;-) It's been regularly requested for a while. Skiing and other more "special" activities might have to wait longer though.
Keith Holt
Louis Deveseleer sounds great, maybe a catch all 'other / generic' category as well might be sufficient for more specialised activities to begin with
Louis Deveseleer
Keith Holt I would rather have you create custom exercises for these activites. The thing is, each of the activities mentioned will be taken into account for muscle fatigue and experience profile calculation (for better recommendations and progress). A catch-all "other" activity would create a gap in those calculations. A custom exercise however could later be replaced by an official exercise, which would then retro-actively be taken into account in the calculations.
Also if we add the extra fields for custom exercises (https://feedback.calistree.com/requests/p/complete-custom-exercises-with-equipment-muscles-skill-tree-neighbours-difficult), then they could become pretty much equivalent to official exercises.

Yesss, that would extend the tracked warmup and cardio rating. Would you consider importing tracked exercises like running/cycling via health connect?
Louis Deveseleer
Gerard van Papendrecht: Yes I think that would be feasible and nice to have, although a Health connect import would be a whole other feature on its own, so I just created one for that: https://calistree.canny.io/requests/p/health-data-import
