Move back to customize exercises with parameter

Hello. I used to love the app. But now, just making for example, the Halo unilateral to practice balance of one foot its so much work that implies creating a ne exercise.
Before I could just add weight to any exercise and continue with my routine easily.
To be honest, Im having a hard time using the app nowadays because of this "upgrade". Please make all the parameter available again, if you want hide them, but alliw us to manage thing more easily.

We revised the flow to create a custom variation from the exercise parameters and it's now all done in just one click, so just as easy as it was before the library update, but with the extra benefits of having separate exercises, linked together as variations of each other.
Available now in v4.26.

Louis Deveseleer This is great news. Thanks so much for readying and applying this change so quickly. In 2 weeks done.

I very much agree, I would expect to combine params like eccentric negative weighted pull-ups, but instead of combining I have to create a new exercise :(
Maybe this is just a database issue and weighted eccentrics will become it's own thing in time.
Louis Deveseleer
Zi-Tong Deng Thanks for your message! I think the benefits of separating exercises based on those parameters are worth it, especially since we can simply add more exercises to cover those cases, and get the best of both worlds.
Weighted eccentric pullups will be added if we receive requests to add it. If you already created a custom exercise for that, please send a "Request to add officially" from there.

Hello Marcos Pe , one thing we could do is simplify the flow of creating a custom variation.
If you're in an exercise parameters screen and want to add weight and the option is not available, but with just a couple of clicks you can create the weighted variation and start using it directly, would that be a good option for you?
Doing things this way, we'd keep the benefits of tracking progress separately for weighted exercises, and of filling requests to add those variations to the library, so that future users don't have to create those variations anymore.

Louis Deveseleer It used to be so easy. I has issues 3 with this 3 times while working out today on a new "journey", example, I wanted a single leg calf raise, just add some weight to that, creating a new exercise for that makes no sense, nor timewise, not on the organization of custom exercises I do have, if I keep adding new one its hard to find between all. Or for example, the Halo today, I do it balancing on one leg, I dont care to add that ont he exercise, but I wanted to make it assimetrical, to have the time counter. Those kind of things should be simple to do and customize.
Adding new exercises for simple things like this make no sense.

Marcos Pe Thanks for the explanation! For added weight, we'll look into simplifying the custom variation creation process, but we're not going back to the old system (it gave you more flexibility, but things were less organized and not easy to understand for new users or people new to exercising). Also please don't hesitate to send requests to add your custom exercises to the official library. When all the common weighted variations are added to the library, they will be available for all users, thus making things easy and organized for everyone to enjoy!
About Halo on one leg: I see where marking it as "asymmetrical" was a workaround for you, but it was not meant to be used that way. In an update to timers and audio coming out in one week, there will be a mark at the halfway point if you enabled "speech", I think that might resolve that specific question.
Sorry for your frustration and I hope we can find a way to make you happy with the app again.

Marcos Pe We're working on the simplified flow now. With this new system, all things are automatically generated, so it's basically as easy as it was before the big change: just one dropdown, select the option, done! How does that look to you?
Marcos Pe
Louis Deveseleer I hope its good.
I'm taking time to create new exercises and send to you. For example, today I created a weighted single calf raise exercise. Basically, just the ability to add a dumbell when doing it. I think its nice that it copies most settings, so the movement and thing you are working goes there and it knows what you are working on. But I would also like to have the image copied so it does not look blank. Maybe with a note or something. And when I submit it to you not to request a video link as you do on completely custom exercises. I hope this all makes sense.
Anyways, this consumed like 5 minutes while I was at the gim, but I understand in the long run this might be better.
