Equipment variation
complete
Louis Deveseleer
Add the ability to select the kind of equipment used, similarly to how we can choose the grip, to track progress separately depending on the equipment.
That is useful for example with Ground vs. Parallelles L-sit, which changes the difficulty, or Rings vs. Bar pullup, which changes the dynamic of the exercise.

Equipment as a variation option is now available in version 4.24. Try it out with exercises like pullups and dips.

Its a must, one less thing to set notes and worry about, it would be so much more organized with that. Also would be great if u could add table as an equipment as well as chair is, because of exercises like table row, table biceps curl and triceps extension.
Louis Deveseleer
Gabriel Victor Table: I'm not sure about that one. Some tables work for exercises, but others don't, and if the user is told to do an exercise with a table but it doesn't work, it could be discouraging (new users get discouraged easily).
So I'd rather them do something with the ground only, until they get access to additional proper equipment.
Note: You can also select "Row bar" if you have a table that you know is good to use for exercises.

Louis Deveseleer the image should show a proper table because chair can be as dangerous as table is. If theres a table showing as equipment, as well as videos showing exercises being done with it, would even encourage people to try. But row bar option is great either.

Louis Deveseleer I agree with Gabriel. If there are chairs, a table should be an option too. Although some Tables are not suitable for these exercises. I looked yesterday if I could add a table to my equipment and wasn't sure if Row Bar would be a good fit. Ended up selecting none of it.

Janis Gabriel Victor Thanks for the feedback!
With the new update we're working on, it would be easier to include table as equipment, by adding videos showing how to use it properly. There is already a lot of changes to iron out so I don't think we'll add it right now, but we can keep this change open for later.

Love this one and very much looking forward to using this feature in the future.

Very useful, but wouldn't it affect training and mastery history?
Louis Deveseleer
Gerard van Papendrecht: The training history would not be affected by this change. The equipment variation would be an additional option in the exercise Set parameters. By default, it is only used as a piece of information for the user, to note which equipment is used. And when appropriate, we'll actually create new exercise variations (such as to make the difference between parallettes and ground L-sit), in which case the mastery level will be calculated separately for each variation. Does that answer your question?
