Fixed in v 4.28
Carole Vouillemin
Hello, I have the same problem with a Huawei p20.
Louis Deveseleer
Carole Vouillemin Please update to the latest app version (currently 4.27.5) and let me know if you still experience an issue. With that version, you will need to tap once on "retry" and then all videos should work properly for the rest of that app session. In the next version, we'll automate that fix.
Carole Vouillemin
Louis Deveseleer I didn't answer right away but actually it's all good now! I have to restart the videos every time but after loading again it works.
Louis Deveseleer
Carole Vouillemin With version 4.28 (available now), there shouldn't even be a need to restart anymore. Please let me know if there is still an issue!

zz Orlik Koe Thanks for your comments! It seems like some specific android devices have issues with the video player. We previously had a fix that was actually causing other issues, so we had to remove it and we're not working on fixing this in a way that doesn't break anything else...
Were you able to play at least one video in the app, or did they all fail?
Koe
Louis Deveseleer currently no video works. All of them immediately show the connection issue message (also those that should be cached locally). All of them worked in the previous version.
Louis Deveseleer
Koe Thanks for your reply! There is now a version available in beta testing (4.27.4) that has an improved error-handling in the video player. Do you get a useful error message with a retry button now with that version, instead of a connection issue message? Does the retry button help?
Koe
Louis Deveseleer I do get a different error message now (containing technical details about the video player), it however is unreadable as is. I had to create a screenshot to zoom and read it (see attachment). After clicking the retry button it again fails (I think with the same message, see 2nd screenshot)
Louis Deveseleer
Koe Thank for the information! A new test version is available (4.27.5), this time with a fix attempt.
You will need to click once on "retry" for the first video, and hopefully after that all videos should load correctly for that app session.
Could you please let me know how it goes?
Koe
Louis Deveseleer Thanks, this now fixes the issue as you described. After opening the app I get the error message that I got before (now with line wrapping, which is much better readable). After clicking retry the video works again. After that initial retry all videos work on the first attempt. I closed the app and checked it again. The change does not seem to get persisted, I had to retry the first video again, after that it worked again (which is already ok for me. I do not mind clicking retry once). Thanks for fixing!
Louis Deveseleer
Koe Thanks a lot for testing and coming back to me! We'll publish that little fix as it is for now (zz Orlik please update the app now to get the fix) and we'll work on a better way to handle this issue soon.
zz Orlik
Louis Deveseleer i can confirm. It crashes first, but works after clicking reply.
Koe
I got the same issue. I can click retry, the download progress bar appears, it also seems to complete and the download progress bar goes back into indeterminate progress bar and does not finish.
I've captured the corresponding exception and some surrounding lines in logcat, see attachment.
My phone is a BV9900pro on Android 10.
